How to Make Cage on SketchUp

In this tutorial I will show you how to make simple cage using SketchUp.

Every 3d modeler has their own way to create a model like this iron cage. Here is one quick method that you can apply to drawing cage like this and the like

This tutorial is intermediate level and you can do it easily. i will explain to you step by step how to make Cage like this picture bellow manually.  if you following this tutorial, it will upgrade your skill and knowledge in 3D modeling using SketchUp.

To start this tutorial, you first install the JHS power bar tool and TT selection toy in your Google Sketchup. This plugin is available at the Sketchup store extension for free. download

Step 1
First make a cube shape as shown below

Step 2
Remove one of the cube walls and select all sides of the cube and click split up tool. then just type how many dividing number

Step 3
duplicate the parenthesis and do the flip along command to reverse it (mirror). Then put them together

  

remove some lines to make a hole

Step 4
Select all sides of the cage then do the select only face command and delete all faces by pressing the delete key on the keybord

Step 5
Select all lines and click line to tube tool . Then fill in the settings as you want and click ok
