How to Give Sky Background Effect Using Twilight Rendering on SketchUp

In this tutorial I will show you how to give a 360-degree sky image effect on the background model when rendering by using Twilight rendering tool in SketchUp.

To make the image rendering to be photorealistic, we can give a sky image effect on the model background when rendering the model. This effect is very important if you want to rendering in exterior mode with lots of open space.  with a background effect, the model will be more interactive and real.

To give the sky image effect on the model background, you can do it quite easily on the Twilight rendering tool. You just need to download the background file with a 360 degree viewpoint and insert it into the twilight setting.

How to do it ?? Here are the steps to do it.

  • First, you download 360 degree sky images on google search or here.
  • Open the SketchUp that you will render and select  Environment tool  on the Twilight rendering tool
  • On the Environment tab change the sky type dialog to Spherical Sky and select a 360 degree sky image that has been downloaded in the background image dialog.

  • If it has been fixed, then do the rendering of the model and see the results.
