How to Make Spiral Shape Without Additional Plugin on SketchUp

In this tutorial I will show you how to create spiral shapes on google sketchup without additional tool plugins. The way is simple and easy.

this tutorial is intermediate level and you can do it easily. i will explain to you step by step how to make spiral shape like this picture above manually.  if you following this tutorial, it will upgrade your skill and knowledge in 3D modeling using SketchUp

How to do that ?? lets start this tutorial

Step 1

First make a circle and divide it into 2

Step 2
Eliminate the face so that a half circle line will form

Click the line then right click select explode curve

Step 3
Move each line point towards the top with the distance of each point is 0.1 or as you like. Example: I will move each point with a distance of 0.1 and the result is first point 0, the second point 0.1, the third point 0.2 and so on. Move using the move tool

After finished, duplicate the line then use the flip along command to reverse the direction of the line and combine it

Step 4 
Duplicate all the lines upwards so that it looks like a spiral

Use the scale tool to adjust the spiral height

  

Step 5 
Add a circle and use the follow me tool to form a spiral
