In this tutorial I will explain to you how to do basic rendering using the Twilight plugin tool in SketchUp. Twilight rendering tool is one of many free plugin tool to rendering 3D model that you have been made by SketchUp.
The purpose of rendering the 3D model that we have made, is to make a model looks real and we can reference it to making a building in real life
Most of the rendering tools especially Twilight, consisting of several fairly simple processes: Select model → specify the material used → environment settings → do rendering. Of course for each process on the product rendering tool will have different settings. Well, here's i will to explain to you how to rendering the Twilight rendering tool based on the process I mentioned above.

1. Select the model and Choose Material.
- Choose which model you will render
- Give material as you want in the SketchUp editor material
- Then define the material (shiny, translucent, etc.) by choosing material tamplate tool and choose which object you will define by selecting pick material.
- Then choose a material template according to your wishes and needs.
- You can also adjust the gloss level of the material as you want. If it feels enough then close the material tab.
2. Environmental Setup.
- On the Environment settings tab, you can define the environment according to your needs. Like the brightness of the sun, the color of the sun or the effect of the sky based on images etc.
3. Rendering
- Before rendering, you must set the view position on SketchUp as you want.
And look at the results.
